Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 22, 2026
This page explains what cookies (and similar technologies) Reviews Zen uses, why we use them, and the controls you have. We keep it minimal — no third-party advertising trackers, no behavioral profiling.
01What are cookies?
Cookies are tiny text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They’re used to remember things like whether you’re signed in, your preferences, and basic analytics. We also use “local storage” in a similar way, which works like cookies but lives only in your browser.
02The cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories. Only category #1 is strictly required to use the site.
1. Strictly necessary
- Authentication and session cookies set by our identity provider so you can sign in and stay signed in.
- A small CSRF token to protect form submissions from cross-site request forgery.
- Load-balancing cookies set by our hosting provider to route your traffic consistently.
2. Functional
- Remembering your preferences in the dashboard (e.g., last-selected layout, theme).
- Storing a flag so you only see onboarding tips once.
3. Analytics
- Aggregated, anonymized usage data so we can see which pages and features are working well. We do not build behavioral profiles or sell this data.
- If/when an analytics tool is integrated, it will be listed here with a clear opt-out.
4. Marketing
- Not currently used. If we ever add marketing/retargeting cookies, this page will be updated and a cookie banner will let you opt in.
03Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by services we use to run Reviews Zen. These third parties have their own privacy policies:
- Our authentication provider (sign-in)
- Our hosting provider (performance and reliability)
- Our payment processor on checkout pages (fraud prevention)
We don’t embed advertising trackers or social-media pixels on the marketing site.
04How to control cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings. All major browsers let you block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
- Sign out. Signing out of Reviews Zen clears your session cookies.
- Private / incognito mode. Most cookies are deleted when you close the window.
For browser-specific instructions, see: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
05Do Not Track
We respect the spirit of Do Not Track. Because Reviews Zen doesn’t use behavioral advertising or third-party tracking pixels, there’s nothing extra to opt out of beyond the standard browser controls above.
06Changes to this policy
As we add features (or add/remove third-party services), the cookie list above may change. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
